Me and my son (he’s about 3 months old here.)

A few months ago, I unearthed some old high school and first-year college yearbooks from a bin previously stashed at my parents’ place. Amidst the “HAGS” and “Remember that time….” comments, I spied “I hope your dream of becoming a journalist works out!” The path hasn’t always been straight—cue jobs in administration, project management, and a career in graphic design—but I guess the writing thing has worked out. Here I am.

I’ve worn many hats in my 15-odd years as a writer: managing editor, writer, art director, editor, proofreader, copywriter. As an editorial writer, I've had the joy of meeting all sorts of people, I’ve travelled to places near and far, I’ve written advice, reported on trends and produced photo shoots. My copywriting work has graced real estate marketing materials and brand communications. I've logged countless hours editing books, magazine editorials and digital content.

Home is my husband, 5-year-old daughter, 1-year-old son, and our french bulldog-pug-chihuahua. Living on the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia, Canada, we spend our free time exploring beaches and hiking trails, and enjoy trying every new restaurant and brewery that pops up in our growing community. I learned to tap dance a few years ago and have since joined an adult company dance troupe.

As my nine years of college and university can attest, I love learning.. Currently, I’m working on my Certificate in Digital Content and Communications from UBC's Sauder School of Business.

My next big aspiration is to write a novel inspired by my mom’s life.
